Take the First Steps to Becoming a Member

We believe the best memberships start with the right fit - for you and for the group. That’s why we invite you to experience SBOA before officially becoming a member.

Here’s the typical path:

1️⃣ Join Our Online Community

Start by joining our SBOA Facebook group. It’s the easiest way to meet members, see upcoming events, and get a feel for our culture.

2️⃣ Visit a Few Meetings

We encourage prospective members to attend 3 chapter meetings. This gives you a chance to:

  • See how meetings run

  • Learn about other members’ businesses

  • Share about your own business in a relaxed setting

3️⃣ Have a Few One-on-One Conversations

Strong referrals come from real relationships. We suggest setting up at least one or two one-on-one meetings with chapter members to get to know each other better.

4️⃣ Submit a Membership Application

When you feel aligned and ready to plug in more consistently, you can complete a membership application. This helps us:

  • Avoid major industry conflicts and keep chapter balance healthy

  • Get you on the SBOA directory or update your existing listing

  • Make sure you’re stepping into a group where you can truly thrive

  • Review and properly consider your request with SBOA leadership
